Royal In Foil – Artwork Guidelines (Foil Business Cards)

To ensure the highest quality foil finish, please follow the artwork requirements below carefully.

File Requirements

  • File type: PDF only (no JPG, PNG, or Word files)
  • Size: 90mm x 55mm (standard business card size)
  • Scale: 100% (no resizing required)
  • Orientation: Landscape or portrait accepted

Safe Area & Margins

  • Leave a 3mm margin from all edges (non-printable area)
  • Keep all important text and elements inside this safe zone
  • Anything outside this area may be cut off

Artwork Setup (CRITICAL FOR FOIL)

  • Artwork must be 100% black only
  • No greys, gradients, shadows, or transparency
  • No backgrounds or filled boxes
  • Foil will only apply to black areas

Foil Application Notes

  • Black = Foil.
  • White = No Foil (card stock colour will show)
    White 235gsm card stock only
  • Fine details may not transfer cleanly with foil
  • Large solid areas are not recommended (can cause uneven finish)
